Joining Howden and District U3A
There are 3 ways you can join us.
- You can enrol online on the New Members Site
- You can download the Membership Application Form (2025/2026) and post it to the Membership Secretary together with your subscription (cash or cheque). The address is on the form.
- You can also join at our Monthly Meetings - see EVENTS page.
The Howden and District U3A year runs from 1st October to 31st September with an annual subscription of £10
Renewing Your Membership
- If you haven't already done so register for the Members Portal. See instruction below. You can then Renew your membership online: Here is a Step by Step GUIDE. For full details of online renewals from u3a HQ follow this link
- You can also renew by post or at a Monthly Meeting as above.
The u3a Members Portal
The Members Portal provides access to and management of your record on our database Beacon. It allows you to:
- Renew your membership
- Get information about our groups
- Join or leave a group
- View a calendar of meetings and events
- Update your personal record on Beacon
- Get a replacement membership card
To use the Members Portal you must register for a membership account. Registration is free and you only need to do it once.
- You will need your membership number and email address.
- You will be asked to set a password, of your own choice.
- Once you've done this, you can enter the portal with your password. You don't need your membership number again.

Beacon
We use the bespoke database system Beacon to store our data, for instance details of members and user groups.
Members who need to have access to Beacon are called Beacon Users.
